Use the button under the heel and, holding the front of the shoe, slide the skates apart the appropriate distance until you hear an audible click. The skates feature a plastic shoe shell with a movable collar. Inside, there's a soft and comfortable sock. The 3-position closure system features an AUTO LOCK system. The quiet, soft rubber wheels are mounted on ABEC-7 bearings.
